The Ohio Innocence Project (OIP) has one mission: to prove the innocence of those wrongly incarcerated. A part of the larger, nationwide Innocence Project, the OIP focuses on those incarcerated in Ohio. The organization is largely comprised of students and professors at the University of Cincinnati School of Law, where they have been focused since 2003. While the organization shows a level of scrutiny when selecting cases to take on, once they take a case, they are tireless in their efforts to prove the innocence of the incarcerated. To date, the OIP has successfully exonerated twenty-six innocent men and women and given them their lives back, and they continue to work on many ongoing cases.
